​Born in Spencer, Roane County WV 1957


Graduated East Bank High School 1976

Graduated WVU Tech 1999 BS (Honors) Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management w/ Minor in Economics and Social Sciences

Employed and retired from Walker Machinery Company with 43 years’ service in various capacities.

Recipient of numerous certificates of accomplishment from Caterpillar Tractor Company

Rated in the top 5% of diesel mechanics in the United States in 1982 by the US Secretary of Defense.

Graduated Leadership West Virginia in 2004

3 term past president of the Upper Kanawha Valley Chamber of Commerce, 2 terms as Vice President and 2 terms as Secretary Treasurer

Served on the (WVUIT SOAR committee) Summit on Area Revitalization.

Served on the WVUIT Extreme Sports Committee

Served the Montgomery Board of Parks and recreation for 15 years

Served on the Montgomery City Building Commission 

Served on the City of Montgomery Zoning Board of Appeals

Served on the City of Montgomery Finance Committee

2 term past recorder for the City of Montgomery

Elected Mayor of Montgomery and took office on July 1, 2016

Served as Municipal Judge for the City of Montgomery in 2016.

Elected to second Mayoral term July 2020
Completed the City of Montgomery’s 1st ever comprehensive plan.
Successfully accomplished Home Rule status for the City of Montgomery.
Currently finishing new zoning ordinances for the City of Montgomery.

Currently serve as Vice Chair on the Upper Kanawha Valley Strategic Initiative Council. 

Serves on the West Virginia Department of Commerce “Upper Kanawha Valley Regional Comprehensive Planning Council”.

Serves on the Hatfield and McCoy Regional Recreation Authority.

Serves on the 4-county Region Non-motorized Trail Authority

Serves on the Region 4 Emergency Response Selection Committee

Serves on the Kanawha County Commission “The Valley” planning committee.

Serves on the Fayette County Route 60 revitalization committee.

Serves as Vice President of the Upper Kanawha Valley Mayoral Association.

Completed 4 regional studies for Upper Kanawha Valley economic revitalization including Montgomery Comprehensive Plan, The Virginia Tech assets and strategies for Montgomery, WV, Your Voices, Your Valley by the Center for Rural Entrepreneurship of NC. And the River Cities Trail master plan.

Chair the Montgomery Sanitary Board

Currently Executive Director of the Midland Trail Scenic Highway Association

Serve many other committees and councils for the benefit of the residents in the Upper Kanawha Valley.

Greg Resides in Montgomery with his wife Susan, and has two daughters Chasity, and Brooke.
