Welcome to the City of Montgomery

Welcome to the City of Montgomery, West Virginia. Located in the Appalachian Mountains, the City of Montgomery is home to a rich history of education and natural resources. Incorporated in 1891, Montgomery was named for James C. Montgomery, who received the land as a gift from Levi Morris.

Montgomery sits in both Kanawha, and Fayette Counties and includes boundaries on both sides of the Kanawha River. Montgomery is working hard to be home to tourists as they travel to the New River Gorge National Park.
